What does AI think about construction partnering?

At GLA, we aspire to be the source and resource for construction partnering. We also like to explore future trends and new approaches. As such, we tried an experiment — we used one of the latest AI tools to generate a podcast-style overview of the Field Guide to Partnering on Caltrans Construction Projects.

And here are some highlights:

“Think about this staggering number. Tens of billions of dollars. That's roughly what unresolved claims are costing construction projects every single year, just in interest and legal fees. And that's just the money, right? Doesn't even touch the human cost. Exactly. You've got those soured relationships, productivity just tanks, everything slows down. It's really a lose-lose situation.”

“Partnering is meant to be this continuous process woven through the entire project from start to finish. It kicks off with a partnering workshop, then includes follow-up sessions, monthly evaluations, and if needed, structured dispute resolution. It’s almost like project management for the relationship itself.”

“The guide talks about the values behind partnering — fairness, deep trust, open communication, teamwork, and collaborative problem-solving. The idea is that by actually listening to each other and using everyone’s expertise, you get better outcomes. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.”
